Captain & Player Charter

Player Charter:

All South Wales and Welsh Team Players are required to agree to abide by the following Player Charter which sets out the minimum standards and behaviours that are expected.

All Players must:

  • while attending Team practice, training, development, tournaments and events, players must behave professional and sporting manner;

  • be courteous to fellow team members, competitors, spectators, event organisers and event officials;

  • act as an ambassador for the Welsh Padel playing community

  • indicate availability, and pay event fees in a timely manner

  • while attending events, players must adhere to all event rules and guidelines;

  • support fellow team member during preparations and at competitive events;

  • support Team Captain and Welsh Padel Team Manager during Team development, training and selection events;

  • support team and event sponsors where applicable (e.g. wearing sponsored Team clothing during events and training).

Team Captain Charter::

All Team Captains are required to agree to abide by the following Team Captain Charter.

Team Captains must:

  • behave and operate in the best interests of the Welsh Padel, Tennis Wales and the Team that they are managing;

  • Encourage and advocate a professional approach and sporting behaviour from all team members (the team are ambassadors for the whole Welsh Padel community)

  • ensure that they playing to an appropriate level, typically well enough to participate in the Team; however, Team Captains must be prepared to not select themselves if better or more appropriate players or pairings are available;

  • Ensure that the most appropriate players are selected, setting aside established relationships and friendships, giving a fair opportunity to all nominated / squad players;

  • Adhere to and abide by the ‘Welsh Padel Team Player Charter’.
