Wales National Team Selection

The selection process for Wales National team sets out the process and criteria for National Team Seclection.

Summary:

Selection Criteria:

  • FIP-sanctioned competitions (including FIP Ranking), LTA graded competitions (including LTA Ranking*), Previous Four Nation Event results, Other relevant domestic or international events

LTA tournaments are the most important in this case as it is expected anyone representing Wales to be competing in LTA tournaments.

The selection panel may also consider:

  • Current form and consistency, Commitment, professionalism, and preparation, Compatibility and contribution to team dynamics, Physical condition and match fitness, Conduct during previous Welsh or home nation representation, Any other factors relevant to the team’s success

South Wales County Team Selection

Summary:

  • All candidates must meet the LTA County Eligibility Criteria

  • All candidates must complete the Expression of Interest form

  • Selection for South Wales Padel County Team will follow the key principles set out in the National Team Selection process (see above).

  • FIP-sanctioned competitions (including FIP Ranking), LTA graded competitions (including LTA Ranking*), Previous County Championship performance, Other relevant domestic or international events

  • Current form and consistency, Commitment, professionalism, and preparation, Compatibility and contribution to team dynamics, Physical condition and match fitness, Conduct during previous Welsh or home nation representation, Any other factors relevant to the team’s success
