Team Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and oversee the operation and governance of the South Wales County and Wales National teams
Support the development of the North Wales County
Support all County and National Team Captains execute their accountabilities.
Support Tennis Wales competition organisers to structure tournament timetable (primarily to avoid contention with other Padel events).
Act as an escalation point for individual players and the broader Welsh Padel community for issues pertaining to South Wales and Welsh Teams.
Develop and maintain a roadmap for all team activity arising from the schedule of team events e.g. County Championship or 4 Nations. This specific ally includes team
Open engagement events (for new players etc)
Practice events
Squad training
Team selection events
Build relationships with other County and National Padel Teams, captains and communities to maximise the opportunities for the Welsh Padel Community
Act as a key point of contact for event, league and tournament organisers to co-ordinate South Wales and broader Welsh Padel community
Where possible develop relationships with sponsors to support South Wales and National Teams.
Nomination and Appointment:
Any member of the Welsh Padel community may nominate themselves to undertake the role of the Welsh Padel Team Manager. Any interested parties may approach the Welsh Padel Forum or Tennis Wales Padel representative to express an interest. Expressions of interest should be accompanied by a covering letter providing information supporting their application.
The Welsh Padel Forum may (by collective agreement) approach an individual to offer the role of Team Manager.
Any member of the Welsh Padel community may nominate an individual to take on the role of Welsh Padel Team Manager to the Welsh Padel Forum.
The Welsh Padel Forum will consider any nominations for the role of Welsh Padel Team Manager. Where agreement can not be reached, the ultimate decision and deciding vote will be cast by the Chair of the Welsh Padel Forum.
The Welsh Padel Forum will review the role of Welsh Padel Team Manager on an annual basis to consider the benefits of appointing a new individual to the role.
The incumbent of the Welsh Padel Team Manager role is expected to provide sufficient notice for a replacement to be appointed (circa 3 months if possible) prior to resignation. A handover of all current plans, schedules and supporting material to the new appointee must be completed.
